I was born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana. From a young age, I knew I wanted to become a veterinarian. Fortunately, my parents supported this passion by allowing me to care for a variety of animals throughout my childhood, which only deepened my love for animals and strengthened my commitment to pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.
I graduated from Louisiana State University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Renewable Natural Resources, with a concentration in Wildlife Ecology and Management. After graduation, I completed an internship at a wildlife rehabilitation center in Florida. While I valued the experience, I realized that I missed the special bond between pets and their owners, which inspired me to shift my focus to small animal medicine. I returned to Metairie and worked at a local veterinary hospital in preparation for veterinary school.
I attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, located on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean. During my time there, I was actively involved in The Feral Cat Project, a trap-neuter-return (TNR) program for stray cats on the island, and participated in research focused on neonatal kittens. I then completed my clinical year at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. My professional interests include neurology, emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery, and infectious diseases. I enjoy creative problem-solving and thinking outside the box to find solutions that best serve both pets and their owners.
I have two cats, Elvis and Lola, and a “Coconut Retriever” named Coco, a rescue I found as a stray dog on St. Kitts. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and being outdoors. I’m also a proud aunt to my twin nephews and niece.
I am excited to serve the SWLA community and their pets alongside the wonderful team at Gill Bright Animal Hospital!
